Jacob is an urban planner, with a background in land use and transportation planning, and technical skills in GIS, urban design, and quantitative analysis. He uses his skills to help make sense of large datasets, and translate numbers into concepts and visions that people can understand and discuss.
Prior to joining Fregonese Associates, Jacob worked for the City of Ottawa planning local transportation and transit projects, and for the Province of Ontario developing regional scale land use policy. He is also an experienced researcher, having studied walkability, transit, and built environment interactions. This experience makes Jacob invaluable for creating active transportation designs and developing transit supportive solutions for a variety of projects.
Jacob holds a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto with a specialisation in Urban Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Carleton University, with minors in Geography, and GIS.
