Urban design comprises the relationship between each element of the city’s physical fabric—the buildings, the open space between them and the wide range of transportation connections. These connectors thread the pieces of fabric together and give it coherence. In our urban design work, we embrace the entire physical fabric of a city—the buildings, the open space between them and the wide range of multi-modal connections. We approach urban design from the perspective that different design features work better in some areas than others, and our process is based on tailoring urban design to specific areas based on community preferences.
While we incorporate urban design principles into all of our work, our staff includes several urban design specialists who possess the skills necessary to communicate complex concepts for stakeholders and the public. As a full service planning firm we have the ability to produce high quality urban design graphics from site plans and cross sections to photo-realistic renderings.
