Transit-Oriented Development

Fregonese Associates has a long track-record of successful implementation-focused transit-oriented development projects. Our success stems from our use of cutting-edge scenario planning and spatial analysis tools. We have had tremendous success managing complex projects, engaging civic and community leaders, diverse groups of citizens and technical experts to develop feasible solutions to current and future planning problems. These elements are most clearly represented in the work we recently completed for three regions: Portland, Dallas, and San Antonio.

For the Portland region, Fregonese Associates led an effort for Portland Metro and the cities of Portland and Gresham to develop an action plan for a 10 opportunity areas along a planned Bus Rapid Transit Line. In Dallas, we did site-specific TOD analysis and made recommendations for community development tools to support catalytic development. This led to the subsequent RFP issued on one of the sites analyzed as part of the Dallas TOD project. FA has also worked with VIA, San Antonio’s regional transit agency to develop a “station location tool” that has helped that region develop its own TOD scorecard using a flexible GIS tool and framework.  Our TOD projects include:

·         SA Corridors – San Antonio, Texas

·         TOD Economic Impact Study – Kansas City, Missouri

·         Dallas TOD – Dallas, TX

·         Powell-Division Transit and Development Project – Portland, Oregon
