Violet Brown | Project Manager

Violet Brown is a former public interest attorney and housing advocate for low-income New Yorkers and current land use planner with a strong background in written and visual communication, public speaking and community engagement, land use planning, economic and housing policy, and zoning code. Her dedication to community development and almost a decade of experience representing at-risk tenants in housing courts in Brooklyn and Los Angeles has instilled in her a deep respect for the profound impact urban planning decisions can have on communities, particularly on transit dependent families, the ethical responsibility of advocates and professional planners alike, and the power robust public participation can have on the planning process and within the neighborhoods engaged.

She works on projects that range in scale from small area/neighborhood plans to regional and comprehensive planning. She conducts research and analysis, completes demographic profiles, economic, and housing analysis, prepares and participates in community workshops and outreach, and writes and edits plan documents and zoning code.
