Life on State Implementation Plan
The Life on State Implementation Plan includes alternative roadway realignments and development opportunities for the State Street corridor with the goal of making State Street a model for sustainable street design, urban design and planning for the region and Utah. It builds on the 2010 Life on State Vision that imagined State Street as Utah’s “great street” from the Capitol to Draper. The Life on State Implementation Plan further refines the vision for Salt Lake and South Salt Lake through extensive public engagement and detailed modeling of alternative land use and transportation scenarios. The plan delivers clear, actionable strategies that promote economic development, improve transportation options, address safety and security along the corridor, and celebrate the social and civic experience, making State Street Utah’s “great street”.
- Safety: How can we work together to make State Street safer 24-7?
- Mobility: How can we make State Street better for everyone traveling– by car, foot, bicycle and transit?
- Business: How can businesses unite to become a more successful and appealing district?
- Living: How can State Street be more livable and human-scaled and help more people move into this neighborhood?
